Time- still life study

This is a study for my new still life painting. Charcoal on paper. 8″x10″. It is a strange little drawing, done from life in  my  studio. I decided to do this still life for multiple reasons. The watches used belonged to my father-in-law. He passed  away  two years ago. Just few days ago, my brother-in-law passed away. He died of cancer. He is survived by my sister  and her two sons. This still life is a reminder for me: life is temporary. As a human, I am fragile. I do things out of fear. I  do not want anything to break or stop. May be I will learn to do things out of love. And then passing of time will not  matter.
