I finally had the opportunity to photograph my latest paintings of 2011. Although I haven’t counted the number of paintings, I believe I have painted more in 2011. Many plein air paintings, sketches, live wedding and event paintings, portrait commissions and paintings done in the studio. I continued to paint in both oils and watercolors. And the more I paint, the more I understand the importance of good drawing skills. So, I hope to draw more in 2012.
I love painting from life, but, I also do many paintings in my studio. Here are my latest studio pieces. Both originals and prints are available.
Happy 2012!

Raleigh- View from Capital City Club. 10x14.5. Watercolor on paper. Artist- Tesh Parekh. I had always wanted to paint this view. Someday soon, I am going to paint this from life.Lower Lake at Dusk. 12x16 Watercolor on paper. Artist - Tesh Parekh. Durant Nature Park in Raleigh is my favorite place to paint. Many many painting opportunities in this little park.Durant Trail. 12x16 Watercolor on paper. Artist - Tesh Parekh. Durant Park painting, of course! The park is very close to where I live. I go there quite often and continue to find new things to paint.Quilts. 20x16 Gouache on Aquabord. Artist - Tesh Parekh. This is Burleigh Plantation in Semora NC. I visited the plantation few weeks ago and found it very exciting. I have also done a drybrush painting of a slave cabin door of the plantation. I worked on this painting for many days. I have entered this painting in Jerry's Artarama's Turner Gouache contest. Painting in Gouache is quite different from watercolor. This is my first painting on Aquabord. I am not quite sure if I like the surface for my kind of paintings. I may have to try it with watercolors.NC State Fair 2011. 12x16 Watercolor on paper. Artist - Tesh Parekh. I have always wanted to paint NC State Fair. There is just so much energy at the fair! And the different shapes, colors, smell, the crowd and the movement. If I can find a good spot, I would like to paint en plein air one year. This is a gouache painting on paper. This is the second painting which I have entered in Jerry's Artarama's Turner Gouache Contest. Unlike the painting of Burleigh Plantation, this is a freer painting. I painted this quickly.
“Flowers of Fresh Affairs”. Oil on Canvas. 18″x24″. Artist – Tesh Parekh This is a fun painting I did at the Fresh Affairs in Raleigh. Lyn Graves had kindly invited me to paint live at the Tabletop Extravaganza. I have seen and captured the work of Fresh Affairs team many times- it is simply spectacular! It…
Marci and Brian. 12×16. Watercolor on Arches 300 lb CP paper. This is my recent studio wedding painting. I had photographed Marci’s wedding last year (when I am not painting, I do professional photography- www.iwpphotography.com). Marci was a wonderful bride. Many brides have their Bridal portraits photographed prior to the wedding. Marci opted to do…
Live Wedding Painting I painted this as part of a style shoot at the Bradford. Many thanks to Brent Deitrich of Live View Studios for reaching out to me for participating in the French Provincial Watercolor Wedding style shoot. The Bradford is a lovely venue in New Hill NC. One of the many benefits of style shoot is meeting…
My latest watercolor paintings from recent trip to Mumbai. I was visiting my family for ten days. I went to Mumbai after nine long years! Much has changed there while some of the things have remained the same. The travel was long! Almost twenty-four hours from my home in US to my family’s home in…
“Waiting”. 8×10. Watercolor. Available for purchase via Safe Haven for Cats live auction. This is the painting I just did for the auction. I used my friend Courtney Banko’s beautiful image as a reference. Earlier I had done two more paintings from her images. Those were for the SPCA auction on Oct 4. I like…
I did this plein air painting couple of months ago on location in Chapel Hill. Earlier this year, I had done Jennifer & Ben’s live wedding painting commission in Chapel Hill (check that out under my Wedding & Event paintings portfolio). Franklin Street area of Chapel Hill is always busy! I drove around the Franklin…
